Why would someone buy the 3g iphone over the original 2g iphone? ?
Ok, the obvious answer is speed. It’s 3g man!! But this is the same 3g phone that has been having serious reception problems. The 3g is encased in plastic as opposed to aluminum and it’s $15 per month more. I just bought a 2g iphone for $275.00 and there is no way, the speed benefits of the 3g outweigh the additional $180.00 per year fees, the cheap plastic casing that you can’t insure, and the lack of reception and dropped calls the 3g has. How much time does one spend surfing the internet on their cell phone anyhow? I just don’t get this one. Reminds me of the old saying selling ice to Eskimos.
I have both. The speed is really noticeable. If you stream music or video from your home PC, the difference is night and day, no buffering. I stream music constantly, the 16 GB, although 2x as much as the iphone 2g is aminimal amount of storage. The GPS is something I thought, “…Mehh” but in everyday use it is incredible feature…and i don’t want to go back to the days pre-GPS.

Can I load songs purchased from iTunes on a cell phone other than an iphone?
I’m eligible for an upgrade on my AT&T service but don’t want to get an iphone. There are many other phones with music players on them, but I have an ipod so most of my music already in itunes format. How can I tell whether a phone I’m buying will be compatible with itunes format songs? Is there an easy, cheap/free way to convert itunes song into a format that would be compatible? The AT&T website says one of the phones accepts the following formats: MP3, WMA, AAC, AAC+, EAAC+

music files from itunes are drm-laden. in order to play them on mp3 players other than ipod and iphone, you need a special program to help strip off the protection and convert the itunes m4p, m4b, m4a music to mp3. i always use tuneclone. my friend introduced it to me. it automatically generates a virtual cd burner, with which the music files can be converted at very high speed.
